BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — A Boynton Beach man was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder following a violent stabbing incident that occurred during what began as a graduation celebration, according to police.

Officers with the Boynton Beach Police Department responded to a disturbance call during the early morning hours of May 31. While en route, dispatchers advised officers that a person had suffered multiple stab wounds and that a suspect armed with a knife had fled the area.

When officers arrived, they located an injured individual suffering from several stab wounds to the torso. Emergency personnel rendered aid before the victim was transported to a local trauma center for emergency surgery. Authorities reported the victim was in critical condition following the attack.

According to investigators, the incident stemmed from an argument that broke out as attendees were cleaning up after the graduation party. Witnesses told detectives that the suspect allegedly refused to help clean and stated that he was “the boss,” sparking a heated verbal confrontation. What began as an argument quickly escalated into a physical altercation.

Police said the suspect allegedly armed himself with a sharp object and repeatedly stabbed another partygoer during the confrontation. Witness statements and evidence collected at the scene led detectives to identify the suspect and establish probable cause for an arrest.

Investigators later located and arrested Oliguens Michaud, who was charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder.

The investigation remains ongoing. As with all criminal cases, the charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
