A Palm Beach County jury has found Geisy Rodriguez Brito guilty of human trfficking following a troubling case involving the s3xual exploitation of a 27-year-old, officials announced.

A woman has been convicted of human trfficking in Palm Beach County following a jury trial that exposed a disturbing pattern of exploitation and control over a vulnerable victim, prosecutors announced.

The case, led by Alexcia Cox, resulted in the conviction of Geisy Rodriguez Brito, who authorities say orchestrated a scheme to profit from the sexual exploitation of a 27-year-old woman.

According to evidence presented in court, the defendant played a key role in bringing the victim from overseas to the United States in October 2022. Once in Palm Beach County, the victim was allegedly directed to work in strp clubs, where she was pressured to continue engaging in commercial s3xual activity.

Prosecutors said Rodriguez Brito maintained control over the victim by confiscating her passport and other critical documents, leaving her with limited ability to leave or seek help. Testimony during the trial also revealed more extreme measures, including an attempt to monitor the victim’s movements by placing a tracking device in her clothing.

“This outcome demonstrates that these crimes will be taken seriously and prosecuted aggressively,” Cox said in a statement, emphasizing her office’s commitment to protecting victims and pursuing justice.

The investigation was carried out by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, with Assistant State Attorneys Victoria Thacker and Amanda McCabe leading the prosecution.

Rodriguez Brito is scheduled to be sentenced on May 14.

I’ve noticed that ever since the new States Attorney Alexcia Cox took office we’ve had a lot more successful prosecutions of these type of crimes. Her office has really been stepping up in my opinion and I look forward to seeing more prosecutions like this.
