BOCA RATON, Fla. — A 26-year-old Boca Raton man was arrested after Palm Beach County deputies say he forced his way into his parents’ home and attacked his elderly mother while wearing a mask.
According to a probable cause affidavit released by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, Daniel Max Abramson faces felony charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling while masked and battery on a person over the age of 65.
Investigators say the incident happened on April 30, 2026, when Abramson arrived unexpectedly at his parents’ residence. Deputies said Abramson remained outside the home speaking with his father, who reportedly hesitated to let him inside because of what authorities described as a prior history of domestic violence involving Abramson and his mother.
According to the report, Abramson allegedly spent several minutes trying to convince his father to allow him into the residence while his mother attempted to signal for him not to be let inside.
Once inside, deputies say Abramson immediately covered his face with a black mask and rushed toward his mother, violently throwing her to the ground. The victim reportedly suffered a bump and redness to her head as a result of the incident.
Authorities noted a significant size difference between Abramson and the victim, stating the victim is 67 years old and weighs approximately 120 pounds.
The affidavit states Abramson fled the scene after his father intervened by striking him in the back.
Investigators also alleged Abramson had been secretly following the victim and taking photographs of her without her knowledge. Family members reportedly expressed concern to deputies that Abramson’s behavior had become unpredictable.
Deputies later attempted to contact Abramson at another location, but he allegedly refused to meet with law enforcement.
Abramson was taken into custody and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on the felony charges.
