UPDATE: October Hearing Scheduled in Jennyva Noel Aggravated Chld Abuse Case
MIRAMAR, Fla. — A court notice schedules an October 2, 2026, status hearing in the criminal case against Jennyva Noel, who pleaded not guilty following her January arrest on two counts of aggravated chld abuse involving two minors.
The notice, dated July 17, sets the hearing for 8:30 a.m. in Courtroom 7750 at the Broward County Courthouse, before Judge Siegel. It states that the defendant’s appearance is mandatory.
The hearing was scheduled after a July 17 status conference at which the court granted a defense request for a continuance. Prosecutors also filed supplemental discovery that day, according to the court docket.
The case stems from a Miramar Police Department investigation into allegations of physical abuse reported in early January.
According to the arrest report, an officer responded on January 1 to a complaint involving state chld-welfare authorities. During the investigation, two chldren described alleged mistreatment dating to December 2025 and expressed concerns about their safety.
The officer reported that the chldren’s accounts corroborated one another. Police alleged that the physical punishment described during the investigation exceeded reasonable discipline and amounted to intentional abuse.
Specific descriptions of the alleged acts are omitted to protect the chldren and avoid reproducing graphic details.
Police conducted a follow-up interview with Noel on January 2. According to the officer’s account, she acknowledged using physical punishment but denied other allegations described in the report. Officers subsequently arrested her and transported her to the Broward Sheriff’s Office Main Jail.
Broward booking records list two counts of aggravated chld abuse. A magistrate found probable cause on January 5, and two bond postings were recorded on January 9.
Noel’s defense filed a written plea of not guilty on February 19, along with a demand for a jury trial and a request for discovery. Prosecutors filed a formal charging document that same day.
An arraignment was held on March 5. Later that month, the defense requested changes to Noel’s bond conditions, and the court granted that motion on March 30. The docket entries reviewed do not specify the conditions that changed.
The court also granted a defense continuance during proceedings on May 15, before the additional continuance recorded in July.
The October proceeding is identified in the notice as a status hearing. The records reviewed contain no conviction, acquittal, dismissal, or other final disposition. The scheduled date is based on the July 17 notice and remains subject to subsequent court changes.
The chldren’s names, ages, schools, family relationships, and other identifying information are withheld. Witness identities, addresses, and graphic allegations are also omitted.
All individuals are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
