What happened: A Delray Beach broker is accused of backing into another car at a popular restaurant and driving away while under the influence, according to the Boca Raton Police Department.
Background: BRPD says that on Sunday, officers arrested Gerald Joseph Laurino, 55, after he allegedly sparked a domestic dispute at Maggiano’s on St. Andrews Boulevard, then got into his gray Tesla, backed into a parked Toyota Tacoma, and drove off.
The driver of the truck told police that his front bumper was damaged, and later identified Laurino as the driver. When confronted, Laurino initially told deputies that he did not remember a crash, and was disoriented, slurring his words, stumbling, and smelled strongly of alcohol, according to BRPD.
Additionally, his gray Tesla was towed.
