What happened: Motorcyclist with 'Come get me,' 'I will run' on bike flees PBSO, jumps backyard fences A West Palm Beach teen is behind bars after fleeing a traffic stop on a motorcycle marked “I will run,” jumping fences and hiding in a family’s backyard.
Background: Deputies with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office say the incident unfolded on Friday near Okeechobee Blvd. Deputies say they spotted two motorcycles speeding through traffic, doing wheelies and weaving between cars on wet roads.
When they tried to stop them, both riders took off. A PBSO helicopter followed one of the motorcycles as the rider eventually ditched it near Michigan Place and S.
He eventually surrendered in a fenced backyard. Deputies identified the man as 18-year-old Zachary Stephens, who was wearing a black ski mask.
The motorcycle he allegedly abandoned had the phrases "Come get me" and "I will run” written on both sides, according to the affidavit. Investigators said the motorcycle was not registered, had no license plate and Stephens did not have a valid driver's license or motorcycle endorsement.
The affidavit also says Stephens initially gave deputies a different name and date of birth.
