What happened: A Boca Raton man is accused of repeatedly trying to force his way into a Canna shop and causing nearly $2,000 in damage, according to a P alm Beach County Sheriff’s Office arrest affidavit.

Background: Eliezer Goldstein, 27, was taken into custody Oct. 23 and charged with burglary of an unoccupied structure and felony criminal mischief, jail records show.

The incident happened shortly after 1 a.m. at Sanctuary Canna , 21401 Powerline Road, according to the affidavit.

The business’s IT director told deputies he was notified of suspicious activity and reviewed surveillance footage showing a man trying to get in through the side entrance. Investigators said the video showed a man arriving in a white SUV, parking near the west side of the property and walking to the entrance.

He tried pulling on the doors several times, then pushed against them, kicked one and used his body to try to force it open, the affidavit states. The business hours were posted on the door, according to investigators.

The man appeared to injure his left hand during the attempts, then returned to his vehicle and drove away, the affidavit says.
