What happened: A man is accused of stealing from a Wellington Green Mall kiosk, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Background: PBSO says that Zijuwon Markese Mathis, 24, is accused of taking part in a jewelry theft at a Wellington Green Mall kiosk on July 12, 2026. surveillance showed four suspects — including Mathis — walking up to a Jewelry Boulevard kiosk, while three of them lifted up the tarp covering the kiosk, and entered underneath it all while the fourth remained outside.
One jewelry case lock had allegedly been forced open and damaged. PBSO says the suspects then exited the mall and appeared to board a Palm Tran bus headed towards Belle Glade, which was later confirmed by bus surveillance footage.
PBSO says that the estimated value of the stolen items is roughly $20,217.56. Investigators also came across an Instagram video that shows Mathis wearing a rose-gold Cuban-link bracelet and necklace.
As such, PBSO found probable cause to charge Mathis with grand theft of property valued at $20,000 to less than $100,000, a second-degree felony, and burglary of an unoccupied structure, a third-degree felony.
