PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — A Palm Beach County man is facing a first-degree murder charge following a lengthy investigation by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office into the disappearance and death of 32-year-old Eullaia Castellon in October 2023.
According to investigators, 41-year-old Jose Castellon Jimenez was reported missing after allegedly leaving a residence early in the morning and failing to return. Detectives soon began investigating suspicious circumstances surrounding both his disappearance and the disappearance of Eullaia Castellon.
Authorities say cellphone data, surveillance footage, and vehicle tracking information played a major role in the investigation. Detectives determined that a van connected to Castellon was later discovered parked at a Tri-Rail station in Lake Worth Beach. Inside the vehicle, deputies located the body of the victim concealed beneath boxes.
Investigators later tracked Castellon Jimenez’s movements southbound toward Miami International Airport. Federal travel records allegedly showed he boarded a flight to El Salvador shortly after Castellon’s disappearance.
During the investigation, detectives recovered evidence from a second vehicle connected to Castellon Jimenez, including a purse and personal belongings belonging to the victim. Surveillance footage reportedly captured a man investigators identified as Castellon Jimenez leaving the area where the victim’s vehicle was later found.
The Palm Beach County Medical Examiner later ruled Castellon’s death a homicide by unspecified means.
Court documents also revealed deputies had previously responded to a domestic disturbance involving the pair just days before the victim’s disappearance, though no arrests were made at that time.
Authorities say Castellon Jimenez was later located in El Salvador and extradited back to Palm Beach County to face the murder charge. ()
The case remains part of an active and ongoing investigation and he is considered innocent unless proven otherwise in a court of law.
