April 17, 2026 – Palm Beach Gardens, FLA local man is behind bars after authorities say he used a master key to enter occupied hotel rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn in the early morning hours.
Arrest Details
Damian Dewayne Heaven was taken into custody on September 15, 2024, following an incident at the Hilton Garden Inn In Palm Beach Gardens.
Undercover Investigation Not Involved – Direct Police Response
According to the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department probable cause affidavit, officers were conducting an enhanced patrol of the hotel parking lot around 4:05 a.m. when hotel staff reported a guest believed someone had tried to enter her room. While officers were on scene, a second guest called the front desk to report an unknown male inside his room.
Suspect Confronted at the Scene
Officers located Heaven standing in the doorway of another guest room holding a bag. When asked to accompany them to the front desk for verification, Heaven initially cooperated but then fled down a hallway. Officers pursued and took him into custody.
Evidence Recovered
A search of Heaven’s belongings revealed four hotel room keys, including a housekeeping master key. Officers also found a large amount of cash and a jewelry box containing women’s earrings and other items.
Post-Arrest Statement
After being read his Miranda rights, Heaven claimed he had stopped at the hotel because he was tired from traveling. He stated he did not know how he obtained the jewelry box and said he experiences “blank spots” in his memory. He would not provide details about how many rooms he may have entered.
Charges and Sentencing
Heaven was charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling and resisting an officer without violence. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison.

The case was prosecuted in Palm Beach County court. Heaven is currently in custody.
