A Palm Beach Gardens teenager is facing multiple felony charges after police say he fired several rounds during a late-night confrontation at a Palm Beach Gardens apartment complex, placing multiple adults and chldren in danger.
According to the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire shortly before midnight on June 28, 2026, at an apartment complex near PGA Boulevard and Interstate 95. Witnesses told investigators that an argument escalated outside the complex before shots were fired.
Police identified the suspect as Nivahn Da Martinique Walker, 18, of Palm Beach Gardens. Walker was later located near Interstate 95 after dispatch received information about a person matching the suspect’s description running from the area. Witnesses subsequently identified him during a show-up conducted by officers.
Investigators say the incident began when a man arrived at the apartment complex to visit a woman. According to witness statements, Walker confronted the visitor and the two became involved in a heated verbal dispute outside the apartment building. Multiple witnesses reported seeing Walker armed with a handgun during the confrontation.
Police say Walker initially fired a round during the argument. As the confrontation continued, witnesses reported hearing additional sh0ts. One round struck a parked Tesla in the area. Several individuals, including chldren who were nearby, reportedly sought cover as the gunfire erupted.
During the investigation, officers interviewed Walker after advising him of his rights. According to the probable cause affidavit, Walker admitted to firing what he described as a “warning sh0t” and later acknowledged firing several additional rounds toward the other individual involved in the dispute. Investigators say Walker also admitted discarding the firearm after fleeing the scene. He allegedly told detectives the weapon was a Glck 17-style 9mm handgun that he had obtained on the street.
Authorities stated that K-9 units later located clothing, car keys, and evidence in the area where Walker said he had discarded the firearm.
As a result of the investigation, Walker was arrested and charged with:
- Attempted Murder
- Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon
- Tampering with Evidence
- Delinquent in Possession of a Firearm
- Three Counts of Chld Abuse / Chld Endangerment related to children who were present during the incident
No fatalities were reported in the incident, and authorities did not indicate that anyone suffered gunsh0t injuries. However, investigators allege that multiple rounds were fired in a residential area where adults and children were present, creating a substantial risk of serious injury or death.
The case remains under review by the court system, and additional information may become available as the prosecution moves forward.
