PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — A woman is now facing felony charges in connection with a devastating crash that claimed the lives of three Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies in 2024, according to a newly filed warrant affidavit.
Authorities say 31-year-old Corrinne Adrianna Blue has been charged with three counts of vehicular homicide following an extensive investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred on the morning of November 21, 2024, along Southern Boulevard (State Road 80) near Lion Country Safari Road in Loxahatchee. Investigators say Blue was driving a Jeep Grand Cherokee eastbound when she struck three deputies who were standing on the shoulder next to their parked motorcycles.
The deputies — Ignacio Diaz, Luis Paez, and Ralph Waller — had stopped to assist with a disabled motorcycle at the time of the incident. All three were transported to a nearby hospital, where Waller and Paez were pronounced dead later that day. Diaz succumbed to his injuries several days later.
According to investigators, witness statements, video evidence, and vehicle data revealed that Blue was traveling significantly above the posted speed limit — estimated between 76 and 85 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone — just moments before the crash.
Witnesses described the vehicle as driving aggressively, weaving through traffic, tailgating other drivers, and making rapid lane changes without signaling.
Authorities say that as Blue approached slower-moving traffic, she attempted to avoid a collision by swerving onto the shoulder, where she struck the deputies and their motorcycles before crashing into a guardrail.
Investigators noted that Blue told them she did not see the deputies prior to the crash and was relying on GPS directions along a route she had never driven before.
Toxicology results showed no drugs or alcohol in her system. However, investigators believe fatigue may have been a contributing factor. Records indicate Blue had been awake for much of the 24 hours leading up to the crash, and experts suggested she may have been experiencing cognitive impairment due to lack of rest and other factors.
Based on the totality of the investigation, authorities determined that Blue was operating her vehicle in a reckless manner, citing excessive speed, unsafe lane changes, and inattentiveness as key factors that led to the fatal crash.
Officials have submitted the case for prosecution, and a warrant has been issued for Blue’s arrest. She is facing three felony counts of vehicular homicide.
The deaths of the three deputies sent shockwaves throughout the Palm Beach County community, as colleagues and residents continue to remember their service and sacrifice.
