WEST PALM BEACH, FL — A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a deadly shooting that investigators say stemmed from a planned drug deal in Palm Beach County.
Deadly Shooting Under Investigation
The affidavit identifies the following three individuals as suspects in the murder and robbery:
Irijah Nembhard – Co-defendant whose vehicle was used in the crime. Cell-site data, surveillance footage, and forensic evidence link him directly to the planning and commission of the robbery-murder.
Mivenson Hero (DOB 1999) – Named as the primary defendant in the arrest warrant. He faces charges of 1st Degree Murder with a Firearm and Robbery with a Firearm. He is accused of being one of the shooters inside the vehicle.
Lucas Torres – Co-defendant who later provided a detailed sworn video-recorded statement describing the planning, execution, and aftermath of the robbery. His account has been fully corroborated by video surveillance, cell-phone location data, forensic evidence, and other investigative findings.
According to law enforcement officials, the victim was discovered deceased in the parking lot of an apartment complex after suffering multiple gunshot wounds. The incident occurred on March 15, 2022, and was later ruled a homicide by the Medical Examiner.
Authorities responded to the scene late in the evening after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies confirmed the victim had died at the scene.
Drug Transaction Led to Fatal Encounter
Investigators say the incident began as a planned marijuana transaction. Evidence shows the victim had been communicating with another individual to arrange the sale of a significant quantity of marijuana.
Text message exchanges revealed negotiations over pricing and quantity before both parties agreed to meet at the victim’s residence.
Multiple Suspects Identified in Investigation
Detectives later identified multiple individuals believed to be involved in the incident. Authorities allege the suspects were working together in coordination before, during, and after the shooting.
Digital evidence, including phone records and location tracking data, placed the individuals traveling together throughout the evening.
Surveillance Footage Provides Key Breakthrough
Video footage from a nearby convenience store captured a vehicle believed to be connected to the suspects. Investigators observed one individual exiting the vehicle and purchasing gloves shortly before the shooting.
Authorities believe this action may have been part of preparations leading up to the crime.
Location Data Tracks Suspects
Law enforcement officials used a combination of surveillance footage and location data to track the suspects’ movements. The vehicle was seen entering and leaving the area where the shooting occurred.
Phone data further confirmed that the suspects were in the vicinity at the time of the homicide.
Search Warrants Lead to Key Evidence
During the investigation, detectives executed search warrants at locations connected to the suspects. Authorities reported recovering a quantity of marijuana consistent with the planned transaction, along with a loaded firearm.
Forensic testing later determined the firearm was consistent with one used in the shooting.
Suspect Faces Serious Felony Charges
The defendant is currently facing multiple felony charges, including first-degree murder with a firearm and robbery with a firearm.
Investigators believe the individuals involved acted together in a coordinated robbery that escalated into a deadly shooting.
